Samuel Loliger, longtime National Coordinator of the Coalition who shared that office with Jan Griesinger, is in hospice care at the end of a long illness. The UCC Coalition and the wider Open and Affirming movement owe Sam a deep debt: he and Jan were leaders when General Synod adopted the UCC’s ONA resolution in 1985, and it was on their watch that the foundations were laid for what later became the largest and fastest-growing LGBT-welcoming church movement in the world.
The Coalition joins with Don Behr, Sam’s husband, in inviting prayers and messages of encouragement and gratitude for Sam.
