UCC Coalition Executive Director Andy Lang spoke at the National Press Club Oct. 10 on the eve of National Coming Out Day and the opening of the Religious Right’s “Value Voters Summit.”
The anti-LGBT lobby doesn’t speak for most American Christians, he said. More than 6,000 Christian and Jewish congregations with nearly one million members fully support their LGBT members and honor their relationships, and the number is growing.
The press conference was organized by the NALT (“Not All Like That”) Christians Project—a social-media site for LGBT Christians and their allies can post videos supporting justice and inclusion for the LGBT community. Other videos from the press conference are here.
