Support LGBTQ homeless youth on Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service

A call from the Human Rights Campaign:

Let’s come together as a community to serve LGBT homeless youth on MLK Day of Service. On Monday, Jan. 20, MLK Day of Service is a “day on, not a day off.” It is a way to transform Dr. King’s life and teachings into community action to help bring together people, strengthen communities, and meet national challenges.

Local HRC chapters across the country are organizing volunteer and donation campaigns to serve the LGBTQ homeless population. To date, campaigns have started in Austin, TX, Boston, MA, Chicago, IL, Cincinnati, OH, Cleveland, OH, Houston, TX, Los Angeles, CA, New Orleans, LA, New York, NY, Phoenix, AZ, Portland, OR, South Florida, Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN, and Washington, DC. If your community is not on this list, contact your local LGBT Community Center for ideas on how you can help LGBTQ youth. And share the video on this page with your congregation.
