The Open and Affirming Coalition is excited to begin work on a new anthology: Join the founding team creating Human and Hopeful: An Anthology of LGBTQ+ Stories, Creativity, and Practices.
Human and Hopeful: An Anthology of LGBTQ+ Stories, Creativity, and Practices
This project will celebrate the many ways LGBTQ+ people, allies/accomplices care for themselves and one another through creativity, faith, community, wellness, and everyday practices that sustain hope. Our vision is to create a collection that inspires people today while preserving the wisdom and resilience of our communities for future generations.
Before we issue a national call for submissions, we’re looking to build the team that will help bring this project to life.
If you have experience (or simply a passion) for editing, proofreading, publishing, reviewing creative work, theology, visual arts, music, design, or helping organize collaborative projects, we’d love to hear from you.
We’re inviting interested individuals to complete a brief interest form and join us for an upcoming online vision meeting, where we’ll share more about the project, discuss volunteer opportunities, and begin building the editorial and creative teams that will shape this anthology.
Whether you’re an experienced editor, an artist, a pastor, a writer, a librarian, an educator, or someone who simply believes in the power of stories, your gifts may help make this project possible.
We invite you to become part of this historic project. Help us create a collection that will encourage people today and preserve the stories, creativity, and practices that have sustained LGBTQ+ communities for generations to come.
